Password hygiene
Use a unique password for Coinsquare — never reuse across sites. Generate long, random passwords with a password manager (20+ characters where possible). Avoid memory-based passwords and passphrases derived from predictable phrases or dates. If you manually create passwords, combine unrelated words, numbers, and symbols to increase entropy.
Device safety
Treat your primary trading device as critical infrastructure. Keep the operating system and browser up-to-date, install reputable security software, and avoid installing unnecessary browser extensions. If you trade frequently, consider a dedicated device or user profile solely for trading activity.
Backups & recovery
When you enable 2FA, the provider often offers backup codes — print and store them offline in a secure location (safe, safety deposit box, or metal backup). If you use hardware keys, maintain at least one backup key in a secure location to avoid being locked out if one key is lost or damaged.
Test your plan
Periodically test your recovery plan (e.g., verify that backup codes work) so you’re not surprised during an incident. Practice changes on low-risk accounts first to avoid accidental loss of access.
